PAPAA

ELECTRONIC TARGETED INTERVENTION FOR PSORIASIS

This project was a collaboration between the Psoriatic and Psoriasis Arthritic Alliance (PAPAA), Manchester University and ourselves to develop an online cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) programme for people suffering from psoriasis.

The therapy programme was the result of a long-standing commitment by PAPAA to find a non-invasive treatment for psoriasis and by bringing together expertise in CBT (Manchester University) and technology (us) they felt they could offer support in a more accessible and effective way.

Our role was to build the online environment that would: offer an intuitive user interface, manage the requirement for randomised control groups, create an on-screen mannequin for users to record the extent and severity of their psoriasis (before and after CBT), deliver the CBT in a controlled manner over a period of 6 months and maintain user anonymity throughout.
